Wound healing can be one of the greatest challenges for patients and the healthcare delivery team. No one knows this better than a wound and ostomy nurse.
This webinar will cover the role of Total Contact Casting in off-loading Diabetic neuropathic ulcers and the new functional imaging in the assessment of tissue perfusion in patients with certain cardiovascular conditions and wounds, including fluorescein angiography. Learn about the two most common tissue substitutes in wound healing and the most common negative pressure wound therapies for closure of wounds. Beware! What may seem like an insignificant red spot could quickly turn into a life-threatening condition.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Vanessa has been an RN for 31 years in Oregon. She has worked for Tuality Community Hospital (near Portland) for 28 years in a skilled rehab setting, medical-surgical unit, and the last eight years as a wound, ostomy, and foot and nail nurse in an outpatient clinic, inpatient, and a geri-psychiatric unit. She is currently working on a graduate certificate with Boise State University for healthcare simulation education. Vanessa is kick’n it with the Wound and Ostomy team (she’s on the far right). She also happens to be the sister of our AHDI-West President, Val Purdy!
