As the “baby boom” generation ages, more and more of us find ourselves serving as caregivers for our older relatives. Caregiving can also be necessary for loved ones with acute or chronic conditions and disabilities. Anyone who has filled this role knows it can be stressful, and this webinar examines the stressors associated with caregiving and how they can affect the caregiver. Join us to learn techniques and strategies for filling the challenging and vital role of caregiver and the resources available to help. Attending this webinar earns 1 CM CEC credit.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Jay Vance is a long-time Healthcare Documentation and Health Information Technology Specialist. He is also intimately familiar with the role of caregiver, both to a live-in relative with long-term dementia, and to his wife, Carol, who is an ovarian cancer survivor. Jay has also been a minister for over 30 years and has provided support and counsel to many other caregivers in a variety of settings. Jay and Carol have been married for 26 years, have four children and three grandchildren, and live in the Desert Southwest in Yuma, Arizona.
