Although Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has been described by authors over the past 200 years, the clinical characterizations and contemporary concept of ADHD as defined in the DSM-IV-TR are relatively new. The speaker will define what ADHD is and is NOT, and how it is diagnosed, treated and the long-term prognosis. You will learn about the various behaviors common to children and adults. In addition to how this disorder affects the patient, we will explore the effects of ADHD on family, school setting, work, etc.
